With an artist's eye and a designer's training, Crystal is attracted to strong line, texture and the imperfect perfection of watercolor.

Influences include the glamour of vintage fashion magazines, 19th century penmanship, kanji, Saul Steinberg, Alice Neel, Egon Schiele, modernism.

Drawing since she was in diapers, Crystal is seldom found without dip pen in hand and ink on her fingers.
